A different type of Stitchery!

Some days you just have to change direction. Today I am " mom sitting " while my dad goes to church. My mom has dementia, and so she isn't left alone anymore at this stage. So when I sit with her, I tend to knit dishcloths as it's an easy pattern and mom likes to watch me as I knit. She's where I got all my crafty talents from, and I think it makes her happy to know she passed this talent on to me.

This is the only thing I know how to knit. I am a much better crocheter. I can read and follow crochet patterns, but when it comes to knitting, I get overwhelmed and don't think I can do it, so I don't try. Except for dishcloths! It's so easy, knit, yarn over, knit together...easy Peasy! Besides, trying to find time to make these seems to be nonexistent, so I take this with me whenever I can. I take this with me in the car if I am riding, and to the doctor's office or anywhere else I just sit. It keeps y hands busy and I  can get some of my Christmas gifts done throughout the year instead of stressing at the last minute,

My mother used to knit beautifully! She was a seamstress and loved to do all kinds of arts and crafts! She is German and could never read a pattern, but she could look at something and just replicate it. She was amazing in that way!

Anyway, this little snippet was just to send your way to enlighten you that stitching is not just on fabric. It is something that I do in numerous ways. I will continue on for today (since it is now Monday)
and, sew I stitch!

Baptist fan part 2!

I was asked to post a video showing how to continue on a row with the baptist fan pattern. It can be confusing but thanks to so many quilters who are always ready to offer advice, I was able to figure it out. So now I can help others as well! I hope this makes sense to you!

While continuing on my merry way, as I continue the final clues of 2018 Bonnie hunter mystery quilt “On Ringo Lake”, I thought I had lost the last few pieces of the last clue! I searched all over my sewing room, only to finally figure out that I had sewed ALL the parts of one clue without saving the required number for the final one! So now I am am busy undoing what I had done!

Sigh....And sew I stitch!
